Case Study: Grosvenor Contracts’ Contribution to the New HCA Women's Clinic in Harley Street, London

Completion Date: August 2024

Services Provided: Blinds Installation and Disposable Curtain Tracks

Suppliers: Yewdale

Project Overview

Grosvenor Contracts was engaged to provide and install high-quality blinds and disposable curtain tracks for the new HCA Women's Clinic, located on the prestigious Harley Street in London. Set to open later this month, the clinic is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to women’s health, offering a wide range of medical services. With a focus on comfort, privacy, and a serene environment, the clinic required a professional and efficient installation of essential window treatments and privacy solutions.

Scope of Work

The project involved the installation of 48 roller blinds and 27 Movatracks with our disposable curtains across the clinic's various patient rooms, consultation areas, and other key spaces. We worked closely with HCA Healthcare UK and our trusted supplier, Yewdale, to ensure that all installations met the highest standards of quality, functionality, and aesthetics.

Blinds Installation

Products Used:

- 48 R20 Roller Blinds: Each blind was equipped with black teardrop bottom bars, combining durability with a sleek, modern design.

- Fabrics: The chosen fabrics were Roach Blackout Light Grey for complete privacy and light control, and Roe 3% Light Grey, which provided a balanced amount of natural light while maintaining privacy.

The blinds were installed in patient rooms and consultation areas, providing the clinic with a versatile solution for light management. The blackout fabrics ensure that patients can rest comfortably without disruption from external light sources, while the light grey fabric offers a softer ambiance where full blackout is not necessary.

MovaTracks and Disposable Curtains

Products Used:

- Disposable Curtains: Our curtains are specially designed for easy replacement, ensuring a hygienic environment, which is crucial in a healthcare setting.

The Movatracks, known for their smooth operation and robust construction, were installed throughout the clinic. These tracks support disposable curtains, which are essential in maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, allowing for quick and efficient changes between patient consultations.

Challenges and Solutions

One of the primary challenges was coordinating the installation work within a tight schedule while ensuring that the clinic remained on track for its planned opening. Grosvenor Contracts’ experienced team executed the project with precision, adhering to strict timelines without compromising on quality. The choice of materials and products from Yewdale was instrumental in achieving the desired outcome, offering durability and ease of maintenance, which are essential in a high-traffic medical environment.

Outcome

The project was completed on time and to the client’s satisfaction. The newly installed blinds and curtain tracks not only meet the functional needs of the clinic but also contribute to the overall aesthetic of the space, creating a welcoming and calming environment for patients and staff alike.
